front side I met a kind, gentleman called Ray De Leon in 2012 whilst I was attending the Chronicles meet in Los Angeles. When I meet people whilst on my travels and I think they're nice, I do my best to keep in contact. I had no issues doing this with Ray, I spoke with him about whilst I was over in Vegas for Sema if he could meet up with me & Chivas whilst I shot his car. One minor issue was the only day I had free was the same day as his Son's birthday party. Not to worry though as he had no issues with me coming along, hanging out for a while and when we had the time heading down to the spot for me to grab some pictures. Rays 1 advert for coilovers rear 3 nearer I wasn't quite sure which of Ray's Integra's he was going to bring down, whether it be his White DB8 or his Black DC2 Type R, the car I did see at the Chronicles last year. As Chivas & I turned up to the venue, I clocked it being his white one, to be honest like I had said, either was good as both are beautiful examples of how to build a Honda. rays 2 rear 2 Ray has been building Honda's since I was starting High School. He has seen every single phase of the Honda tuning scene first hand & Maybe that contributes to his impeccable attention to detail... lower vegas The previous race ready DC2R Ray used to have had to be sold once his son started school, as it just was not practical for daily driving and doing the school runs. The DB8 was bought to be his daily run about not being modified, so lets look a bit more in depth at the modifications.. side on The real reason that Ray's DB8 started to get modified is that he had a H2B DC2 that he had sold to make way for the DB8, being heartbroken over selling his project, he had kept some of the modifications laying around such as suspension, wheels and other little things which kept him happy for a while, but it was only a matter of time before he delved in head first... The DB8 is lowered on Function form Coilovers & sat on Wedsports TC105n (17x8 +38) wrapped in Nitto Neogen Tyres... side on With the H2B DC2 Memories still fresh, Ray purchased a DC2R to take to shows, with both the DB8 & DC2 he attended many & we all know how it is, you go to a show, see a modification on a car & instantly go home trawling the internet for them yourself.. the DB8 has had a ITR 5 Lug conversion done along with 282 ITR brakes fitted... front quater rear 2013 was the year Ray had dedicated to the DB8, to the point of the car becoming Skunk2 Certified. Next year he is focusing on The DC2R which, I have to say is a beauty! But you will have to wait and see that... One of my personal favourite things about the bug eye front DB8 is that it's not a common chassis you would see set up like this, most of my travels to the USA I see these low on some 15 inch low offset wheels, so it was refreshing to see one set up differently... vegas background front on advert for coilovers rear straight on rear quater angled Tucked under the VIS carbon fibre hood is a B18C5 out of the USDM Type R DC2 sat on Hasport mounts, upgraded with Wiesco 11.5 piston 81.5mm, Eagle rods, Ldl ported head, Skunk 2 Cams, Valve spring retainers, sporckets vtec solenoid.
